I'd like to be able to create a semi-additive measure using SSAS Standard Edition.I have a measure that I want to divide by the number of time periods. To determine the number of time periods, I created a calculated measure using the following MDX:[code]COUNT(DESCENDANTS([Calendar].[Yr-Per].CURRENTMEMBER,[Calendar].[Yr-Per].[Period]))[/code]I spin up the cube, and everybody is happy... Until (for example) - With Excel, I filter to only two periods. My MDX ignores the fact that Excel is filtering my dates down to only two periods - I still see the count of all periods, and suddenly my calculation comes out too small.Does anybody have any advice on what I could be doing wrong here? Is this a limitation of MDX, or am I not thinking about the calculation correctly? Is there something I can add to my calculated measure to tell it to pay attention to possible query filters?Any advice at all would be really appreciated!
